弗朗斯·约翰松是美国布朗大学环境保护科学学士、哈佛商学院MBA。现从事咨询工作,尤其专注于介绍各种类型的交叉思维概念。此前他还是企业软件开发公司Inka.net的创始人兼CEO。他研究的范围极其广泛,包含了工商管理、垂钓运动、冒险游戏等领域。该书首次出版以后,作者2005年进行了“美第奇效应”巡回演讲,其足迹遍及《财富》500强中各类公司,包括耐克、通用汽车、摩托罗拉、IBM、摩根大通、柯达等。
