约翰·奈斯比特是世界著名的未来学家，埃森哲评选的全球50位管理大师之一。约翰·奈斯比特的阅历丰富，他有着哈佛、康奈尔和犹他三所大学的教育背景。
1963年，他被肯尼迪总统任命为教育部助理部长，还曾任约翰逊总统的特别助理。主要代表著作《大趋势》，与威廉·怀特的《组织的人》、阿尔文·托夫勒的《未来的冲击》并称“能够准确把握时代发展脉搏”的三大巨著。
《大趋势》一书目前在全球共销售了1400多万册。奈斯比特始终对亚洲的前景保持着乐观的态度，在几年前与人合著的《亚洲大趋势》里，他预言亚洲将会成为世界经济的中心。奈斯比特还成功地预测了网络的兴起以及全球经济一体化的出现。
