阿兰?摩尔称得上是最为漫迷所津津乐道的编剧之一，在他创作的诸多漫画作品中，《V字仇杀队》（V for Vendetta）、《沼泽怪物》（Swamp Thing ）、《守望者》（Watchmen）、《蝙蝠侠：致命玩笑》（Batman: The Killing Joker）、《非凡绅士联盟》（The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen）、《来自地狱》（From Hell）等均获得好评。其中《守望者》更是开创了图画小说新纪元， 2005年《时代》杂志将其评选为“百大英文小说”之一，这部作品也是迄今为止，唯一一部得过“雨果奖”的图画小说。
1953年，摩尔出生于英国北安普顿一个工薪阶层的家庭，年少时就对漫画产生了极大的兴趣，他文学功底深厚，尤其熟谙莎士比亚、威廉·布莱克等人的作品。经史蒂夫·摩尔的提携，纵使他创作的《特警判官》（Judge Dredd）并未获得成功，但摩尔的写作水准得到了公认。在为《勇士》杂志重新编写《惊奇超人》（Marvelman）之后，他与此前合作过的画师大卫·劳埃德二度联手打造《V字仇杀队》。摩尔的诸多作品曾被搬上大银幕，最终却让他与主流漫画圈渐行渐远。2007年，他与合作《失落女孩》（Lost Girls）的美国地下漫画画师梅琳达·盖比结为伉俪。之后，摩尔仍特立独行，只写自己想要的漫画，策划着实验性质的配乐诗词现场演出。
大卫·劳埃德
出生于1950年的英国画师大卫·劳埃德在20世纪70年代投身到漫画画师的行业，与编剧史蒂夫·帕克豪斯共同为漫威公司英国分部的“漫威革命”勾勒出名为“夜鸦”的全新超级英雄形象，也曾是《绿巨人》（The Hulk）的画师。除本作外，他与阿兰·摩尔合作过周刊漫画《神秘博士》（Doctor Who），也与编剧格兰特·莫里森合作过DC的《地狱神探》（Hellblazer）系列。他为DC旗下Veritgo作画《战争故事》（War Story）；为Wildstorm绘制过由沃伦·埃利斯担纲的《全球频率》（Global Frequency）等。1999年，大卫·劳埃德自编自画创作出了黑色犯罪漫画小说《回扣》（Kickback），2003年首先在法国出版。
