内容简介

Leading a small, but profitable, market of home computer aero-software are three programs ~i~ich

represent over 90 percent of all flight simulator software sales. Remarkably, this flight trio-~light

Simulator, Flight Simulator II, and JET--are all designed by the same company, subLO(~C Cor-

poration (whose name curiously sounds like a digital oxymoron).

One plea that has been voiced by owners of these programs centers on ideas for creative

uses of this new-found computer flight ability. To a limited extent, subLOGIC has responded to

this request by designing special scenery disks that allow the user to fly in different parts of the

world. Unfortunately, scenery disks fail to satisfy the computer pilot s hunger for action. This book

is the answer to this problem.

In its 13 chapters, this book captures all of the thrill and excitement of flight. For example,

in one chapter, you ll be placed on Kill Devil Hill with the Wright Brothers for their historic flight.

Later, you ll stress your flying skills to their limits with mail delivery during a raging snowstorm

in 1921. Even high-performance aerobatics will be attempted in chapters dealing with special

aerobatic maneuvers. No matter where a particular chapter takes you, however, the book s struc-

ture will have you successfully flying Flight Simulator to complete your assigned flight.

There is one small matter of style that will be followed throughout the remainder of this book.

Instead of constantly referring to both Flight Simulator and Flight Simulator II in each software

reference, only the more general Flight Simulator moniker will be used for labeling both programs.

Therefore, both Flight Simulator and Flight Simulator II software owners (along with the myriad

of different computer types) can ably substitute their particular version for each Fli ght Simulator

mention.

Starting with a brief introduction to flight simulation and several instructional chapters deal-

ing with actual computer flight, this book will launch into 82 different historical aviation scenarios

for duplication with the subLOGIC Flight Simulator II and Microsoft Flight Simulator software. Each

of these scenarios follows a standard presentation format. By using this consistent format, each

scenario can be quickly set up by the reader and "flown" on the computer without interrupting

the action throuQh constant text references. Furthermore, once the scenario has been completed,
